My name is Brian Knopp and this is my Project 365.
Project 365 is a photography experiment inspired by http://www.project365.com. Attempted by many photographers around the world, it’s an exercise of will that forces the photographer to utilize his craft every single day of the year. No exceptions. None. If you’re sick, you take the picture from your bed.
I learned about Project 365 from Gabe Taviano, http://www.gabetaviano.com, and his Project 365 website, http://www.1photoperday.com.
How it works for me:
I currently use several iPhone apps and Lightroom plugins to make this all work.
- For instance I could use Toy Camera or Hipstamatic to snap a photo and then post process the image in TiltShift.
- Then using the Word Press app on the iPhone I can draft my daily post, attach the image and keyword tags, and then upload the finished product to my webserver at brianknopp.com
- Once there, the server back-end updates the tags, reorders the mosaic on the main page, and updates my facebook and twitter feeds automatically. It also makes a cheese sandwich, which is not a desired behavior as I already have too many sandwiches.
This also works from any Mac or PC with internet access. For images taken with my Canon SLR I process the raw file in Lightroom, and upload from there. Again, the webserver handles the rest, although in this use case it sometimes makes a lobster bisque. This tends to be more of a problem, especially if I don’t get a mug or a bowl shoved under it in time.
